  1. My experience with Weglot wasn’t the best
I was going to launch coming soon page – just one page with minimum content
    I’ve added 5 languages I speak 3 fluently.
    Summary:
Translations need manual editing – especially when you have headings that make no sense at all!
    I’ve edited one language
There are duplicates of text in the panel
I try to delete Trey don’t update
    I can’t find the page
Content from other pages is added randomly which I was told to delete – really?
I deleted it and when I got back it was populated again
    It just doesn’t work!!!
    Stay away
The idea is great but for company that makes 40k+ pm they should get it working
I’ve paid $55 pm for this plugin
They didn’t hear me in the emails until I’ve asked them to close my account
I would not waste my time or money on this plugin
I’ve researched – many good reviews – really?
They need to fix bugs before charging that amount of money for the commitment of a life of the website

  2. I purchased Weglot to translate English into Chinese. The translation was utterly appalling. I contacted Weglot over a ten day period to fix multiple issues. Their suggestion was to edit it myself or hire a translator through them. I followed these instructions, the translator I hired however was here in taiwan. I left a review on Shopify of 1 star. This review just said the translation was terrible as I have said here, and it added they use google translate to do the translation as I was told this in the email conversations. I was contacted by Weglot offering a refund to remove the review. This was refused because I had spent time and money at their suggestion fixing the translation problems. I said I would remove the review if they fix the translation ( I was still working on it and my website was offline while I do so ). They offered a discount to hire a translator through them. I refused this. I wake up today to an email from the ceo saying he has issued a refund, the app is gone from my site, all the work I have done fixing their translation both my own and the paid for work has gone. My online store is now weeks behind schedule because of them. All because of a churlish response to an honest but negative review. Disgusting behavior.

  3. I am really curious about the quality of the translation. Is it good? Did you test if the translation was correct?

    1. Not in my experience. Utterly unusable. They use google translate to do the actual translation work. And their behavior when you complain is disgusting.

  4. If you try it and the translation(s) are done and quit the subscription do the different language buttons with their content stay available? And can I use it to translate the website myself but just to create the different buttons and copy of the website in the other language?

    1. When the subscription ends, you’ll lose all buttons come with Weglot.
