Snippets by IsItWP

Are you looking for a way to customize the text displaying the number of comments inside the loop? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to customize comment count text in WordPress.

You can customize the text for displaying the number of comments inside the loop. This is just a simple template edit but it’s very useful if you’re creating a theme that is not a traditional theme or you wanted to inject a little bit of personality into the site.

Instructions:

All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s single.php file:

<?php
    echo get_comments_number_text( "No comments, yet", "One Lonely Comment", "% Happy Comments");
?>

Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
