Multiple Custom Menus

Snippets by IsItWP

Are you looking for a way to add different navigation menus for different menu locations? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to display multiple custom menus in WordPress.

Instructions:

All you have to do is add this code to your theme’s functions.php file or in a site-specific plugin:

add_action( 'init', 'my_custom_menus' );
function my_custom_menus() {
    register_nav_menus(
        array(
            'primary-menu' => __( 'Primary Menu' ),
            'secondary-menu' => __( 'Secondary Menu' )
        )
    );
}

Add this code snippet in your WordPress theme files like header.php, footer.php, etc to display multiple custom menus.

<?php wp_nav_menu( array('theme_location' => 'primary-menu' ) ); ?>

<?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'secondary-menu' ) ); ?>

Note: If this is your first time adding code snippets in WordPress, then please refer to our guide on how to properly add code snippets in WordPress, so you don’t accidentally break your site.
