How to Redirect Empty Searches to Root in WordPress

Are you looking for a way to redirect empty searches to root? While there’s probably a plugin for this, we have created a quick code snippet that you can use to redirect empty searches to root in WordPress.

Instructions:

All you have to do is add this code to your .htaccess file:

# Redirect Empty Searches to root
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^s=$
RewriteRule ^ /? [L,R=301]

Make sure to keep a backup of your .htaccess file before adding the above code.
