SiteGround comes with a unique set of features that help you create a blazing-fast website with ease. Let’s take a look at some of the important features you need to look for when hosting a website.
Free SSL
With every SiteGround hosting plan, you get a free SSL certificate. When you host your website on the SiteGround platform, a free standard SSL certificate is automatically enabled without any effort.
SiteGround integrates with the Let’s Encrypt project to provide SSL certificates to its users. An SSL certificate protects user data and helps meet search engine requirements to improve website rankings.
Free Cloudflare CDN
SiteGround offers a free CDN which enables the website to load from the nearest data point for a user. Cloudflare’s CDN, clubbed with SiteGround hosting, ensures your website loads quickly and has the fastest response time.

Free Email Service
SiteGround lets you create a free email address with your domain name. There’s no limit to adding email accounts to your hosting plan.
The email tools include a user-friendly webmail interface, email forwarding option, autoresponders, and more. They also support SMTP, POP3, and other email protocols to deliver your emails smoothly.
Super Caching
By default, SiteGround enables a caching system for all users on their servers. This means your site will load faster than usual from the memory of the server.
It comes with a SuperCacher service to further improve the website loading speed. This service is available specifically for their premium plans (GrowBig and GoGeek).
Free Auto Daily Backups
Many web hosting services don’t back up your site on a daily basis. However, all SiteGround plans come with daily automatic backups, ensuring you don’t have to remember to back up your site regularly.
You can also generate on-demand backups from SiteGround’s provided tools. This service is free on the premium plans and costs a minimal fee on the starter plan.
Website Transfer Tool
When moving a website from one host to another, you need to be careful of traffic, security, backups, and many other things. SiteGround offers a free WordPress plugin that works magically to move your WordPress website without affecting your content or configuration.
SiteGround also provides a professional website migration and transfer service. This is a paid service where a team of experts will move your site while you sit back and relax.
SSD Storage
SiteGround uses solid-state drives (SSDs) instead of Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) for storage. Since SSDs don’t have moving parts, they’ve been proven to improve site performance compared to websites that use HDD storage.
Advanced Security
Security is the key concern when hosting a website with any provider. SiteGround provides free in-house SSH to restrict user account access for your hosting.
It gives an encrypted connection to your hosting account, so web developers and website admins can access the web server in a secure environment. These security features also help manage large files and databases securely.
SiteGround Hosting Pros:
Let’s take a look at how SiteGround stacks up against the competition:
Choose Your Data Center
Even with a shared hosting plan, you’ll be asked to choose your preferred data center. This way, you can ensure your site is hosted on servers closer to your audience geographically.

Amazing Customer Support
SiteGround is well-known for its superior customer service. Best of all, you don’t have to wait more than a few seconds for the next available operator because they have additional support staff in all shifts, so there’s always someone to pick up the live chat. With the GoGeek plan, you’ll get priority support.
Unmetered Bandwidth
The bandwidth is unmetered meaning you’re not charged based on the bandwidth. SiteGround’s StartUp plan, GrowBig plan, and GoGeek plan come with an unmetered data transfer that you can use as much as you like.
Money-Back Guarantee
SiteGround offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all their plans. This will allow you to test the service and tools with full options for up to a month and if you feel SiteGround isn’t the host for your site, you can request a full refund.
The refund doesn’t include the domain registration fees. The domain name will be your property anyway.
SiteGround Hosting Cons:
Here are some limitations of SiteGround Hosting…
Expensive Plans
Compared to other hosting providers like Bluehost, SiteGround’s pricing is a bit expensive. However, SiteGround offers several unique features than Bluehost for faster page rendering.

No Free Domain
Unlike popular web hosting services, SiteGround doesn’t offer free domain names with their plans. If you’re starting your website, this will be an additional cost to your budget.
OUTSTANDING customer service! I have only had good experiences with the tech support and customer service teams. I use SiteGround for all of my hosting needs (I am currently managing 5 or 6 websites) and HIGHLY recommend them every chance I get.
Support in time. I recently contacted for the smallest plan for a website I am creating. Chat support is very fast
Wow: the speed of light: Siteground is simply the best, no extra words!
Outstanding customer service: speedy, friendly, and competent. They’re very patient and understanding with technical issues, even those that they’re not responsible for. I used the online chat assistance and it’s very convenient and expedient.
All the customer service has been amazing! Siteground is making everything so easy for me! I can’t be any happier that I decided to go with Siteground!
Since we do not have enough information to identify your account, we cannot check your case in detail. Still, we would like to clarify that our system sends out multiple emails about upcoming expiration dates, as well as reminders to users at login about expiring services or outdated payment information. If your credit card on file was not valid, and you did not react to the email notifications and client area alerts, unfortunately our system wouldn’t have been able to renew your services.
Also, please consider that SiteGround is not a direct domain registrar and we simply facilitate the process of domain management, following the rules of the registrar company.
If a domain name is not renewed on time, a redemption fee charge is added, but it is not collected by SiteGround – it is part of the process for reclaiming the domain from ICANN, which also determines the amounts charged for each domain to be released.
I am a customer of SiteGround and over time I’ve grown into a true Fan of this awesome company. The support is truly outstanding, I’ve never seen anything like it – super fast, extremely competent and helpful, even for matters that go far beyond what they are responsible for. And they have the best pricing on the market for what they are offering.
I really recommend SitGround to anybody looking for hosting.
They are very professional. Support in time. I recently purchased the smallest plan for a website I am creating. Chat support is very fast
I’ve been using Siteground for a year now creating multiple websites for myself and a few clients and continue to be blown away by the exceptional support and customer service I receive every single time I open a support ticket or live chat.
I pay for the smallest amount of hosting plans on most of my accounts and have had many occasions where I have asked multiple questions and taken up quite a bit of time and the support team has always remained patient and explained things well and took care of other things that were too difficult for me to figure out.
Thank you so much!
Siteground makes our business better! By far they have the best support team in the market.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, QUICK AND EASY!!!!
I searched and searched about blue host. And I was so close to selecting it for my first blog, but then I stumbled on site ground. I decided to go with them when I found out the difference in uptime between the two companies. I thought I had some trouble with registering, but that was not the case. I was just impatient. However, I contacted site ground through live chat and it said 17 other sessions before mine. And I was like ah man this is going to take forever, I got through in less than 2 minutes.
After a long online research and reading reviews we found Siteground as a good host to try.
My first surprise was when I had a live chat before I registered and it went so easy and clearly having a real expert on the other side. Then I registered and got a welcome call if I need any help to install Wordpress etc. I was shocked as I’m paying for the smallest plan and I still felt like the biggest client of Siteground.
It’s all running for 5 months now and another extreme quick respond to my request, even when I know they are great it’s still amazing. I don’t remember when I experienced such a customer service not to mention that my site is working properly and I have no issues at all.
The cheapest and best service of all!
Thanks for the fantastic team! 🙂
I don’t mind paying more for great support. Paying less and still getting great support blows my mind.
Best tech support of any company out there, not just web hosting companies.
Forget Godaddy, they were a pain, their shared servers were slow, their email system caused endless head aches and their tech support always said it was not a problem on their side for a couple of years. After switching all the problems went away immediately.
My pleasure to have account with SiteGround. Always I trust and best in class service! Keep rockingguys
I have had to call on siteground report via their online chat support numerous times for various technical questions and i have found them always to be extremely knowledgeable about all aspects. I often ask them for support in things that aren’t really part of their services but they always help out with expert assistance.
Siteground online chat support is vital to my web business as i know that within minutes I will be speaking to a real person who knows his/her stuff and will be able to help.
I have had nightmare experiences with firms like BT and Vodafone who set up big centres in India and Asia and you end up pulling your hair out. Siteground uses European centres with really technically able and educated advisers.
Well done Siteground!!
I’m in the process of moving a interconnected, multi-domain web hub of four sites, and two other domains to SiteGround. Given my track record of having problems when most others have clear sailing, I expected some difficulties. Sadly, I wasn’t surprised by a glitch-free experience.
.
So far I have worked with four customer support reps. Three of whom were helpful. Two had the answers I needed and the patience to bear with me while I fumbled around trying to do what they needed to do.
.
The fourth was by FAR the absolute worst customer service rep I have ever encountered. And I’ve encountered some bad ones.
.
Rather than listening to the problem AND my proposed solution to see if he could help me implement it, he spouted company policy, and otherwise tried to avoid the issue.
.
I literally had to threaten to cancel my new account if he did not connect me to one of the previous reps who had been helped me set things up when I ordered. Worse yet, I had to make that threat TWICE before he finally transferred me.
.
Once the previous rep was back online with me, he had both the knowledge and patience needed to sort things out in just a few minutes.
.
So, in my experience, the bottom line is that, as with everything else, the results you get pretty much depend upon who you are talking with.
.
And, frankly, three out of four ain’t bad.
CAUTION! I tried to move my website to Site Ground due to all the great reviews but It was a HUGE MISTAKE!
They said my site was up and running but when I transferred the Name servers to the new host nothing worked correctly. Over the next 36 hours I was constantly contacting support trying to get the problem fixed. Most the time they blamed it on not having enough RAM and CPU’s even though I was told 2X CPU’s and 3GB RAM would be enough to handle my websites traffic.
I instantly upgraded to 3X CPUS and 6gb RAM since its very important to me that my site was up and running but after that the site did not run correctly. After that there was a number of other problems and fixes but nothing solved the problem. The site was supper slow and websites like isitdownorjust and GTmetrix showed the website was down.
They never actually got my site to work correctly and I knew they had given up when they said I still didn’t have enough CPU’s, I knew that was BS. I could see there were only 60 visitors on my website which is 50% of normal traffic levels. This was when I switched back to my host that is 1/4th the price and can handle more than 60 visitors at one time.
To top it all off they refused to issue me a refund! However, this just proved that I made the right decision by switching back to my old host.
I chose site ground because they have crush and other drupal-friendly systems pre-installed. Some of my clients want their sites hosted outside of the US, which site ground also offers. So far I’ve been happy with the service and price. Tech support is less knowledgable than other companies I’ve worked with, but with some persistence I’ve always been able to resolve problems.
Siteground Support is really lovley! Very nice people who help you all the time with every issue, its wonderful!
Very professional and very good customer support, 5 stars for me
I’m a “single-focus-operator.” That means I focus on what’s important to me. Understanding what all the acronyms in I.T. is not important as far as I’m concerened. There are others who are capable. So, I remain a cyber-moron. That means I need good-natured help whenever a problem arises with hosting and other issues. I rarely get it.
But my experience with Siteground support has been top-notch. Unlike anything else I’ve had from any other company.
So, whoever wrote the criticism that most of the reviews were about support; the picture may be right for them, but for me, that willingness to offer patient, well-explained and respectful help, is not merely an adjunct, it’s vital to someone like me.
Siteground ticks all the boxes on that one.
I just start moving to siteground, helping is very great, always according to questions
Thank you Siteground (and sorry for english mistakes, i am french)
The reviews are fake.
You can spot them a mile away. SG sucks.
Agreed. I just cancelled my new website with SG because they completely screwed up the transfer from WP. I lost 5 days of business to my website because their propagation failed, and I had to open 7 support tickets and live chat 6 times in 3 hours.
Technical support is horrible. You will get 12 different answers to the same question and none of them are the right answer.
No one at SG was helpful and they failed in every way with my account and transfer of my website. Ig they could not process a top of the line design, then they cannot handle every day service.
The last person (who was a woman) processed the refund within 2 minutes. Hopefully they do not screw that up too.
P.S. This was the second time I tried them. They failed the first website as well.
