Siteground support was great. I was needed to remove a database in my phpadmin and was having an issue with locating the correct database I needed to review. They were super helpful in pointing me in the right direction.

I’m moving my website from another hosting company to SiteGround – and so far I couldn’t be any happier! There are REAL people to talk to…what a novel concept! They know what they’re doing and they spend time with you to make sure that you feel comfortable with the process. I had a chat session that walked me through the entire sign-up process so I could make sure I got my transfer process started correctly. Oh…and did I mention that they’re transferring my entire site – lock, stock and barrel – for FREE! I already feel better and it’s not even complete yet. we have a GoGeek account since some months. I like the fast support at Siteground, but the real reason why I choose GoGeek was WP staging and I can tell you that it does not work at all with our WP installation.
The interesting thing is that I hear no comments about staging, positive or negative in forums. Only articles and reviews telling theoretically how it should work; no real live reviews, testing on a live home page, with some complexity.
We experienced nothing but severe Errors in real live ….
Somebody here who could tell me if it is working for him?

Hello Jim, we were able to track down your correspondence with our support team. We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused, but please note that your account has been hosted on a shared server sharing resources with other accounts. While our shared servers are very powerful and manage to handle load spikes quite well, in this case the account started using much more than the allocated resources at once, increased the server load above an acceptable level and endangered the overall server performance. This has led to issues for all other sites hosted on the same server and we were forced to take measures to protect the other customers.
On Feb 28th was the first time that the spike appeared and we informed you immediately. We provided detailed info of how much CPU your are allowed and how much you were using, that is why we suggested you consider moving to a more powerful solution available for your website only. You wanted us to start the migration for you and we immediately started it so that your site could be back up with minimal downtime. The reason we could not notify you in advance, is because your account’s usage has been normal in the terms of the shared server’s allocated resources until 27 February 2015. Our team has assisted you in the best way possible to bring your website quickly back up without harming the websites of other users on the server, and also made it possible to refund the amount for the unused time once you decided to cancel although the website was fully functional again.
A huge thank-you to tech support for helping get my site back online. I pushed a button wrong at some point and my whole site disappeared (you know that terrible feeling???).
Tech support was fast, polite, and efficient. They asked some smart questions, and by the time I woke up the next morning, everything was purring along.

I’ve just opened up a SiteGround hosting account today after encountering inflexibility with my existing hosting company that is preventing me from setting up a test site for my client. I found the support chat very helpful who quickly and efficiently checked my requirement and worked with me to achieve a solution that worked for me.

While this was done with the sole intention to stop the large amount of api generated requests that were causing an abnormally high CPU usage on the shared server, I do understand your position and I can imagine the disposition this has put you in. Any such changes should have been carefully tested, and I would like to offer once again apologies for the inconvenience caused. The representative that was responsible for this has received detailed feedback in order to avoid such issues in the future.
I’ve hated using GoDaddy for some time now. I just didn’t know how to get away from it. I finally was in dire need of an upgrade to my WordPress site and it was just running so slow on GoDaddy’s servers. It was taking hours to add just a few items of content. I finally did some searching and decided to go with Site Ground based on other reviews. Even though I was concerned about switching over (I’m no web programer and don’t understand DNS or A Records..), the Site Ground team did most of the work for me, super fast, and was very prompt in answering all my stupid questions. Siteground shut down our server without any advance notice because they claimed we had exceeded our CPU quota for the month of February. They did this on February 28, the last day of the month, but more importantly they did this WITHOUT ANY ADVANCE NOTICE.
Suddenly our website was completely off line. They then insisted that we upgrade to their “Dedicated Hosting” for $350 per month. This is extortion at its worst.
I asked them if we were nearing our CPU quota, why couldn’t they have notified us a day or two in advance. They said “it is not always possible to notify in advance” so they decided to just shut off our server.
Is this the kind of webhosting company you want to trust your website with?
As a result, we had to pull engineers in on Saturday and do an emergency migration to Digital Ocean. To add insult to injury, SiteGround charged our credit card for the $350.
SiteGround engineers are generally clueless and have no concept of uptime. Several times they changed our IP address without notice despite the fact that we had a “dedicated” IP service that we were paying for.
STAY AWAY FROM SITEGROUND IF YOU DON’T WANT LOTS OF DOWNTIME!!!!
