Their email is flaky at best, and at times terrible. I’ve had no end of trouble, not least that my sites keep going down because of too many open IMAP connections. If you need more than one email address, or more than one client (eg a phone, a desktop and a laptop) you will quickly have too many IMAP requests. They offer technical solutions, none of which work and they refuse to take any responsibility. They fob you off. So your email doesn’t work and your sites are down.
They recommended I switch from a £6 a month scheme to one that costs £36 in order to get decent email. That’s bait and switch if you ask me. they don’t deserve all these glowing reports. I wonder how they got here…
I switched to SiteGround several months ago. Cannot express my satisfaction with them adequately. Chat is ALWAYS available and fast. Every level of service is prompt, clear, professional. Worth every penny for my plan, and have not been down or compromised on any of my sites even once so far. I’ve used many hosting services in my time but I have NEVER found one as good as SiteGround.
One thing REALLY I appreciate is that I can get instant access to technical help at any time of the day or nite…and they ACTUALLY SPEAK ENGLISH! Not only that, they DO know their stuff. ‘
I’ve had only a few technical issues since I went with SiteGround and most were my own fault. But their technicians were able to resolve most of these issues in minutes.
I could NOT recommend them highly enough.
Execution Requests… what could you mean by that? Could you mean comment spam? Or an abundance of malicious traffic to your site? I’m thinking yes.
If so, that’s actually a +1 in favor of SiteGround to take your site offline immediately. Your site behaving that way puts the entire shared server at risk, or your server (depending on your plan). By taking your site offline, potentially tens of thousands of other businesses were saved from your fate.
It is up to you to make sure your website meets certain minimum standards in order to be hosted by anyone, and has the proper security, keep your CMS and extensions/plugins up to date to make sure that doesn’t happen.
If you read their terms and conditions you wouldn’t have anything to complain about.
Not expensive, worry free backups, fast as hell servers (100% up-time in 2014 & 2015), configured correctly for Magento and other heavy CMS, they develop their own plugins and extensions for CMS, to name just a few benefits of the many…
However, they REALLY shine in customer service. These guys will literally bend over backward to help you solve your problem, and they aren’t like GoDaddy or 1&1 and assume it’s all your fault right off the bat.
They also aren’t money driven! They care more about YOUR online presence than if they get paid on time or not. A company that values the customer more than profits shows what kind of culture they have. (per the conversation I JUST had with customer service)
Personally, I would LOVE to work for these guys someday. I recommend these guys to all of my clients.

I recently moved a bunch of site from BlueHost to Siteground.
SG was so responsive and willing to help me sign up. Really impressive.
Then, it came to customer support after they had me hooked. Not impressive.
The live chat feature now only stays connected for about a minute now, then disconnects. Chats are left hanging. Upon reconnecting a new rep answers and may or may not be able to connect to the original message. Very annoying!
Phone support is not much better. Amazingly, the calls are lost with SG. Don’t have that issue with anyone else in the world.
I would love Siteground if they only would provide the same pre-sale service to post-sale support. Until then, I have to tell it like is!
